I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2015 with honours and started practicing at a small animal vets and an orthopaedic referral centre in Nottinghamshire. I learned a great deal during my time there and left in 2018 after the practice was sold to a large corporate company. I wanted to start my own veterinary practice which emulated the ethos of my grandfather i.e. a rural local village practice that offered a straightforward approach whilst utilising my skills and experience as a veterinary surgeon with modern techniques and treatment methods. I believe you should know your local vets just like you know your GP and seeing lots of different vets can be frustrating when your pet has complex needs. That won't be the case here at Newgrange vets.
I'm a bit of a petrolhead and in my spare time I enjoy motor racing and watching Formula 1. Along with my partner Charlotte we have 2 dogs, Ragnar and Cleo, and a cat Jasper. We also have 3 wonderful children keeping us busy.
I started working at RSPCA age 17, I had my baby Michelle at 27 then attended Brackenhurst on an Equine Management course. When Michelle was 5 years old i started teaching children to ride at the local Riding school. Ten years later after a spinal injury i went back to Brackenhurst and completed BTEC National Diploma in Small animal care. I then started working at Buttercross Vets whilst attending Bottle Green Nursing college. Qualified in 2004. I retired at age 69 from Buttercross and i am looking forward to keeping my 'hand in' as a 'Saturday Girl' at Newgrange Vets.
I have many hobbies and interests such as gardening, sewing, genealogy and calligraphy.
